Finding good Jerked Chicken on Flatbush in Brooklyn is as easy as finding good fried rice in Chinatown. The trick is finding the better ones that have the best quality. Not like there are any real touristy places in the Flatbush area but so far of all the West Indian Restaurants I’ve tried I have found one that I can say gives you the best value for your money without short changing blessed delight west indian caribbean food, jerk chicken, brooklyn you on taste. It’s called Blessed Delight in the Flatbush / Lefferts Garden area. I usually get the Jerked Chicken but today I decided to get the large dinner special of of the Curry Chicken ($9). They totally hook you up here. After shoveling 5 huge scoops of rice and peas, the guy asks me if I want more. I said it’s plenty enough. Then he moves to the curry chicken bin and piles on 3-4 large helpings of the chicken and then follows that with 5-6 scoops of the delicious curry sauce and drizzles it all over the rice and chicen. Again, he asks me if I want more. I said it’s cool, and so he moves on to the cabbage and carrots and finishes with a nice helping of plantains. All this for $9 which I understand in Chinatown you could get a meal for 2 but wait THIS IS A MEAL FOR 2. Anyhow, I’ve been to other places on the block and for the same price you get about 1/2 the amount, the Chicken is too dry, and it doesn’t come with a side of plaintains. I’ll be in Brooklyn for a little longer so look out for more Plate Of The Day reviews from this part of the hood. If you have suggestions, please share with me. Enjoy!

The food is succulent and irresistable, the service is cordial and fast, and the prices are reasonable. I strongly recommend this house of Caribbean delicacies.
“Blessed Delight” truly lives up to its name.
