Mayrose Diner New York – Brunch Lunch
920 Broadway At W 21st St
New York NY
With Mayrose’s huge 20 foot glass windows it’s hard to determine who’s really doing the window shopping – outside looking in or inside looking out. This slice of Americana diner is a great place for brunch. We went to Mayrose few weekend ago during the heavy rain storm. I got the Mayrose lumberjack special which is a short stack with eggs, ham, bacon and sausage. The Mayrose diner brunch is so large it comes in 3 plates: one for the pancakes, one for the eggs sausage and ham, and one just for the bacon (a large helping by the way). Sing got the waffles special with the mixed berries served with fresh whipped cream. On weekends, expect long waits at Mayrose unless you arrive early. I’ve also tried the Mayrose grits and they are pretty good as well although I’m still not really sure what the big deal with grits are – just not a huge fan like Bobby Flay.
