Asian – Boiled Tea-Flavored Eggs

Makes 12

12 eggs
5 cups water
3 black tea bags
2 tablespoons salt
1 teaspoon Chinese Five Spice powder

Fill a large saucepan half full of water and bring to a boil. Add eggs and boil for 10 minutes; remove. With a spoon, gently crack eggshells all over, keeping the shells intact. Heat 5 cups water; add tea bags, salt and spice powder. Simmer eggs in water over low heat for 2 hours. Cool, peel and serve.
