When asked where to get the best Xiao Long Bao (小笼包) AKA soup dumplings, many often say you’ve got to go to Joe’s Shanghai on Pell St. 
But I sometimes have to disagree. You can get some amazing Xiao Long Bao Soup Dumplings at either of 2 Grand SiChuan restaurants in Manhattan. Both offer the same delicious taste of dumplings without the hassle and annoyance of sharing your table with the tourist bus crowds at Joe’s Shanghai. Besides at Grand SiChuan, you can order some kick ass authentic SiChuan dishes too like Suan Dou Jiao (spicy sour string bean cubes with shredded pork). Enjoy!

I love Grand sichuan. Even though i have moved out of chelsea i still travel their for great food (and i live near china town). of course you have to begin with their soup dumplings, then try their cold asparagus with ginger/garlic oil. follow with a whole fish, their incredible shredded pork with pumpkin and an order of their pea shoots.
their are other wonderful dishes to order, these are my favorites.
