Big Booty Bread Shop
261 W 23rd St
New York, NY 10011

This is an interesting bakery we happened to stumble upon last week - actually as we were walking out of the horrible hot dogs at F & B next door. Check out the logo of this bakery though - it’s sooooo Chelsea if you know what I mean. Well after the ultra rude lady at F&B it was really refreshing to have some friendly service at Big Booty Bread Shop. We ordered some Booty Buns (I love the name!!)
and got the Nutella roll. They heated it up and served it with a smile. It’s basically a sweet bread roll with stuffing - the top of the roll is encrusted with sugar crystals giving it a nice crunchy texture. The nutella flavor was subtle but nice.
Apparently the story is that the owner Jose Rojas was a former Wall Street finance guy who decided to go back to the family business and ditched his suit for an apron. His family runs a successful bakery in Newark NJ called the Don Ricky. Interesting story - definitely worth checking it out. Especially if you get some bad hot dogs.
