Fresh Cape Cod Lobster Rolls – Chatham Pier Fish Market Cape Cod, MA
Cape Cod
45 Barcliff Ave
Chatham, MA 02633
Usually I’m the last person to say that summer is over because I don’t want to jinx the possible end to ceaseless months of sweltering heat here in NY. Ever since Labor Day Weekend however, we’ve had a pretty steep drop in the temperature and I’m surprisingly missing the heat (a bit). Luckily we were able to get in a short trip up to Cape Cod over Labor Day Weekend before the season ended. On top of the great weather was Hurricane Earl’s timely demise which led to a pretty unspoiled and less crowded Cape Cod to enjoy.
And so we did. We started with a gigantic lobster roll at the Chatham Pier Fish Market. It’s a little pricey $19.99 considering the locale, but for what you get it’s pretty well worthwhile. It was voted the best lobster roll and clam chowder by a local newspaper. I think I’m used to more mayonnaise and filling than lobster in my rolls, but really who am I to complain? We also had a pint of clam chowder which was also extremely meaty in a silky smooth cream soup base. Great with the crunchy crackers.
Chatham Pier Fish Market is really a seafood market than a restaurant, so its best to visit when the weather is nice so you can enjoy your food by the beach, located 100 yards away. Here’s to a great fall and winter!!
